backup BackUp BACKUP!

Final Update: The cause of this problem appears to have been due to failing hardware. The old hardware for the server has been completely replaced and upgraded. This should also take care of the sporadic downtime that has been happening occasionally over the past couple of months.
Update: It looks like everything has been restored properly. If you come across any errors, please send a message. Also, the login module has been moved. It was taking up too much space in the left column area and didn't need to be showing on each page. It has been replaced with the Login link in the top navigation area.

ThemeBot has been off-line for the past couple days. It seems that a combination of modules that were installed Wednesday caused some file or database corruption. I am still working on pinpointing what the problem was.

Fortunately, I had a full site backup from Monday morning. This archive has been successfully restored. However, a few posts from the forum were lost and anyone who signed up between Monday morning and Wednesday evening will have to re-register (the same username and password can be used).

I lost a few days of work and this causes a minor inconvenience for new visitors. All I can say is, make regular backups of both your files and databases for your website. Especially, make a full backup before installing new modules.

I have an automatic script setup that backs up all the mySQL databases for my sites on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. I will be writing a tutorial about how to set this up soon.

In closing, let me repeat... back it up! It can make the difference between what turns out to be a minor nuisance or a major catastrophe.
