Happy First Birthday Themebot!
Not many people chipped in during the first round. Hopefully there will be more sponsors this time around. Five bucks isn't too much to ask is it?
Today, November 7th, 2007 is Themebot's first birthday. Exactly one year ago themebot.com was launched. A lot has been accomplished during the first year and there is much more to come. A big thank you to all of the members who have added their themes, and to the open source developers who make Themebot possible!
Traffic is increasing and it is time to upgrade to a more robust server. All Themebot wants as a birthday present is a shiny new VPS server. It will only take one hundred people Chipping In $5 each to raise enough to purchase a VPS hosting plan. The goal is to raise $500 before the end of the year. Anyone who Chips In $10 or more will be given special thanks and their website will be listed on this page. The links will be sorted by amount sponsored. Enter the URL for your site in the "Add special instructions for the Merchant" section during checkout to be listed. The ChipIn widget is in the right sidebar, in case you missed it :)
There are over 500 new visitors to Themebot everyday. If half of the daily visitors Chipped In just two dollars, that would be enough to cover the server upgrade. Two dollars is about the same price as a cappuccino or a chocolate bar.
If you represent a hosting provider that is interested in sponsoring a VPS or Dedicated server in exchange for an affiliate banner in the Sponsors section, contact advertising. Suggestions or feature requests are welcome. Please post any feature requests in the forums.
Some Highlights:
- There are over 4100 registered members
- 500+ unique visitors come to Themebot every day to find free web layouts. Most visitors arrive through organic search results.
- Several of the upgrades on the July To-Do List have already been implemented. A new to-do list is in the works.
- The download section has been completely overhauled and provides one of the best interfaces for finding web design templates. All of the web layouts that were previously added are being transferred over to the new section.
