Not that bad after all, no malicious code in here, but they could mention it will do a HTTP request to fetch some links to display in the footer.

Obfuscated code is always suspicious. Why would you obfuscate code which fetches some links? If this is a term of use for the template, fine.
But nobody can be sure it won't do anything malicious while it is obfuscated.
