I upgraded Joomlaboard to version 1.1.5 yesterday. There are some problems with the new release.

The links you mentioned are working for me. The problem I'm seeing is that all of the buttons using javascript, i.e. Boardcode buttons, emoticons, and Preview have stopped working. I isolated it to the sef_ext.php file used to get OpenSEF working. This is Joomla's big weak spot, SEF and the Itemid system. I don't think it will be solved until Joomla 2.0

At this point I'm seriously considering converting the board to SMF and taking another shot at integrating it or just having the forum standalone. There is a convertor available to migrate Joomlaboard (SimpleBoard) to SMF. Not sure how effective it is. I'll have to set up and SMF sandbox to try it out.

The main thing is that I want to have SEF URLs for the forum and have the user registration / login synced with Joomla. I guess this will be my Sunday project

SMF is far superior to Joomlaboard - go for it. I found that the converters work like a charm.

As for a Joomla - SMF bridge, i strongly recommend the bridge from Joomlahacks http://www.joomlahacks.com/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,41/func,select/id,13/

They have lots of extras as well

Well, I've got SMF up and running. It is still a bit rough around the edges and I'm sure there are a few bugs lurking, but... so far so good. I'm going to do a complete write up later about the process of converting Joomlaboard to SMF with some details about integrating with Joomla, as this might be useful to other visitors. Okay, the Bot is off to bed ideways:
